The Story Behind the Caribee Name
Believe it or not, Caribee is proudly Australian, but our name has its origins in South America.
The name Caribee is derived from the Caribe, a piranha-like species scientifically known as Pygocentrus nattereri. Despite its compact size, it is renowned for its strength, resilience and determination.
That same philosophy has guided Caribee since the brand was first used in 1965. Great products aren't defined by size alone, but by performance, durability and reliability.

70 Years of Australian Adventure Heritage
Clipper International Corp., the company behind Caribee, is incorporated in Australia. Starting as a small trading company dealing with China, this early experience would open opportunities that helped shape the company's future in travel and outdoor products.
The Caribee brand is first introduced in Australia, initially focusing on outdoor products including hiking backpacks, tents and sleeping bags designed for Australian conditions.
As Australian travel evolved, the Caribee range expanded into more categories. Clothing, footwear and travel backpacks joined the outdoor range as Caribee became a recognised name among Australian travellers and adventurers.
Today, Caribee continues to develop backpacks, travel packs, luggage and outdoor equipment for modern travellers and adventurers. Travel backpacks, hydration packs, waterproof bags, rucksacks and outdoor gear remain integral parts of the Caribee range.
